Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, who visited TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate, stated that the prototype production of 32 vehicles to be used in the Gaziray line will start in 2021 and they aim to increase the domestic production rate to 80 percent in mass production.
Reminding Gaziantep Municipality's Gaziray Project with 32 vehicles, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “TÜRASAŞ won the tender for rail systems. Hopefully, TÜRASAŞ will continue to produce vehicles in the rail system sector in our country. Our country has now become a country that produces, develops and exports its own technology in rail systems. "We will produce rail system equipment for the world together with TÜRASAŞ and our national companies with national capital."
Stating that TÜRASAŞ will start prototype production of the National Commuter Train Set in 2021, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the design works of the high-speed train project with a speed of 225 km / h will continue in 2021. Karaismailoğlu said, “Within the scope of Domestic and National Projects, the design and manufacturing works of the first prototype set of the National Electric Train Set Project have been completed here, in our Sakarya Regional Directorate of TÜRASAŞ. In our National Electric Train set project, the localization rate has reached 60 percent. "We aim to increase the localization rate to 80 percent in mass production."
