Edirne - Kırklareli Road İskender - Sazlıdere Variant was opened with a ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and its General Manager Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that over 2020 billion 3 million lira was spent for the transportation and communication investments of Edirne with the figures of 841, “We increased the divided road length, which was only 2003 kilometers in Edirne in 70, by approximately 4 times, to 261 kilometers. . "We connected our Edirne to Çanakkale, Tekirdağ and Kırklareli through divided roads."
Minister Karaismailoğlu reminded that one of the important highway projects continuing in Edirne is the divided road between Edirne and Kırklareli and said, “21 kilometers of the 4 kilometers remaining within the borders of Edirne province have been completed. In the section remaining within the borders of Kırklareli, the construction of 21 bridges of 290 meters has been completed, along with a 6-kilometer section. Our project will be completed in 2022 ”.
Minister, Edirne, Uzunköprü Meriç-Küplü Road, 20-kilometer road renewal, Uzunköprü-Pehlivanköy Road, 8-kilometer road construction and Edirne-Havsa-Babaeski Road divided road renovations are also ongoing.
Reminding that a 1230-kilometer highway ring from Edirne to Şanlıurfa has been completed thanks to the opening of the Northern Marmara Motorway and Ankara-Niğde Motorway, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that a feverish work continues on the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which is of great interest to Edirne.
Emphasizing that great gains have been achieved from fuel, time and emissions thanks to the projects carried out, our Minister added that the completion of major projects has made great contributions to the trade and tourism of our country.
The 47,5 km Edirne-Kırklareli Road, which is among the investments in Kırklareli and Edirne provinces, is located on the D-020 axis of the East-West corridor. In the works to turn the existing road in the single road standard into a 2 × 2 lane bituminous hot mixture coated split road, 25 km has been completed with the opening section. In the İskender-Sazlıdere Variant part of the project; There are 3 intersections, 1 bridge, 3 underpasses, 8 culverts.
