Speaking at the Completion of the Samsun-Sivas Railway Line Modernization Ceremony, which was inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Demir said, "It is a project that will strengthen the industry and trade of the region in every field."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the ceremony held for the completion of the Samsun-Sivas Railway Line Modernization. The 350-kilometer railway line between Samsun and Sivas was renewed with all of its infrastructure and superstructure, with the investment of 153 million euros in total and 431 million euros of which were covered by EU grant funds. Travel time between Samsun and Sivas, which was 8 hours and 50 minutes, decreased to 5 hours and 45 minutes.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir stated that the investment, which is very important for Samsun, has been put into service and said:

Port is one of Turkey's best harbor. Its potential in logistics point and the increase in capacity with the construction of private ports show this. Especially the north gate of Turkey. Today, the renewal of the Samsun-Sivas Railway Line is a project that will add significant power to the logistics of the city. It will strengthen this region in almost every field of trade in industry. I especially would like to thank all our friends, dear minister and colleagues for their efforts. After the opening, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to the Metropolitan Municipality and paid a visit to Mayor Mustafa Demir. President Demir made a presentation to President Erdogan about the ongoing investments in the city.
