Turkey is preparing to mount the Southeastern Anatolia Region with new transportation projects by rail to the port city. With the Mersin-Gaziantep high-speed train project, the travel time will be reduced from 6 and a half hours to 2 hours.

The project will make about 20 kilometers with Turkey's longest railway tunnel in the host. It will connect the Southeastern Anatolia Region with the port cities.

Thanks to safe and fast transportation, it will provide logistic support to the growing industrial production and make the journey comfortable.

With the high-speed train project launched between Mersin and Gaziantep, the railway route between Mersin and Gaziantep will decrease from 361 kilometers to 295 kilometers. Travel time between the two cities will decrease from 6 and a half hours to 2 hours.

The number of passengers will increase to 7 million

With the realization of the project, Gaziantep's freight and passenger potential will increase even more. The amount of cargo carried will reach an annual average of 23 and a half million tons, and the number of passengers will reach 7 and a half million.

A total of 20 kilometers between garden-Nurdağı Turkey's longest railway tunnel with two tunnel also will come to life.

Another project planned to be faulted in the region includes the line between İskenderun and Gaziantep. The 274-kilometer railway will be shortened by 70 kilometers, travel time will be reduced from 5 hours to 1 and a half hours. (Source: TRT News)
