İzmir Seferihisar Earthquake Current Situation 102 Dead, 1026 Injured and 1475 Aftershocks

On Friday, 30.10.2020, at 14.51 o'clock, after the 6,6 magnitude earthquake off the Aegean Sea Seferihisar, a total of 4 aftershocks were experienced, 44 aftershocks over 1.475 magnitude.

According to the information received from SAKOM, 102 of our citizens lost their lives. 1.026 of our 883 citizens who were injured were discharged and the treatment of 143 citizens continues.

Search and rescue activities have been completed in 17 of the 12 buildings in İzmir, and work is ongoing in 5 buildings.

INTERVENTION STUDIES CONTINUE

A total of 7.985 personnel, 25 search and rescue dogs and 1.073 vehicles from AFAD, JAK, NGOs and municipalities were assigned for the ongoing response and improvement works in the region.

After the earthquake felt throughout the Aegean Region, field scanning studies are continuing in cities affected by the earthquake, especially in İzmir.

After the earthquake, all Ministry and Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Centers were on alert; support teams were dispatched to the region. The shipment of personnel and vehicles with 7 cargo aircraft belonging to the General Staff was carried out with 20 flights. Search and rescue teams of JAK and non-governmental organizations were dispatched to the region. Coast Guard Command participates in search and rescue activities with 186 personnel and 15 coast guard boats.

According to the information obtained from the Coast Guard Command, 22 boats sank after the earthquake, 23 boats and 1 land vehicle were rescued by the Coast Guard Command teams, and 43 boats ran aground. As a result of the work carried out, 22 of the 14 boats that sunk were removed from underwater, and 43 of the 40 boats that were stranded were rescued. Rescue efforts are continuing by the Coast Guard Command.

TEMPORARY HOUSING CENTERS ESTABLISHED

In order to meet the urgent need for shelter, 3.569 tents, 57 general purpose tents, 24.382 blankets, 13.280 beds, 5.500 sleeping sets, 2.657 kitchen sets and 4 shower-WC containers were dispatched to the region by AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent.

791 units across İzmir, 120 to the Aşık Veysel Recreation Area, 217 to the Ege University campus area, 194 to the Bornova Old City Stadium, 158 to the Buca Hippodrome, 90 to the Buca Stadium, 248 to the Seferihisar district Sığacık area and 1.864 to the various points needed. tent installation has been completed. 2.038 tents are under construction.

WORKING GROUPS CONTINUE ITS ACTIVITIES IN THE REGION

Within the scope of nutrition service, 295.739 people / meals were provided in the region. In addition, 54.914 hot and cold beverages, 140.925 catering items and 108.886 water were distributed. Studies are carried out with 93 personnel, 281 volunteers and 42 vehicles.

A total of 942 personnel, 256 from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and 1.166 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, were assigned for the work in the region.

385 personnel from the psychosocial support working group participated in the field work with 38 vehicles, and 728 people were interviewed in 5.071 households. In addition, 2 mobile social service center vehicles were dispatched to the region.

245 personnel including 32 riot police and 277 traffic personnel from the security and traffic working group were directed to the scene. A total of 262 construction equipment and 309 personnel work within the scope of technical support and supply.

112 vehicles and 234 personnel from UMKE and 835 Emergency Aid teams were assigned in the region. According to the information provided by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, there is no negative situation in the communication infrastructure.

A TOTAL OF 29 MILLION TL OF RESOURCES SENT TO THE EARTHQUAKE AREA

13.000.000 TL, Family, Labor and Social Services, by AFAD Presidency to be used in studies. Look. 10.000.000 TL was transferred by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and 6.000.000 TL was transferred by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.

ASSISTANCE TO OUR CITIZENS IN DISASTER

The citizens who cannot afford their belongings will be given 30.000 TL material aid per household regarding the demolished buildings. During the earthquake in İzmir, 13.000 TL for the owners of the destroyed, emergency demolished and heavily damaged houses, and 5.000 TL for the tenants who are in this situation will be given move and rent assistance. According to the damage assessment studies carried out in Seferihisar, assistance will be provided by the Governorship according to the damage situation of the tradesmen who were damaged in the coastal area.

According to Turkey Disaster Response Plan, search and rescue, health, in order to run without interruption of support work, the Interior Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) in coordination with all the working groups, was activated by the 7 day 24 hour operation basis.

TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR CITIZENS!

Damaged buildings in the disaster area should never be entered. Support should be given to infants, children, elderly and disabled people who may need assistance.
