HAVELSAN delivered the Submarine Command Control System of Murat Reis, our 3rd submarine built within the scope of YTDP.

The Submarine Command Control System, which was integrated and tested by HAVELSAN, was delivered to the Gölcük Shipyard Command to be installed in our Murat Reis submarine. Factory acceptance tests were carried out with the participation of Naval Forces Command and Presidency Defense Industry personnel under the responsibility of HAVELSAN. With the successful completion of the process, the system was delivered to the Gölcük Shipyard Command where the submarine would be built. Murat Reis, the third ship of the New Type Submarine Project / Reis Class submarine project, will also be built at the Gölcük Shipyard Command with maximum local contribution.

Regarding the delivery in question, SSB İsmail Demir said, “The command control systems of our 3rd submarine Murat Reis, which will be built within the scope of our New Type Submarine Project, have been completed by HAVELSAN as in our first 2 submarines and delivered to DzKK. Many of our companies take part in the New Type Submarine Project, where we aim to bring the command of submarine design, domestic production of equipment and command control systems software to our national companies. He made a statement in the form.

The Submarine Command Control System, which was tested by HAVELSAN in April 2020, was delivered to the Gölcük Shipyard Command to be installed in our second Hızır Reis submarine built under the YTDP project.

Defense Industry President İsmail Demir emphasized the important role of HAVELSAN in many systems and software within the scope of the New Type Submarine Project (YTDP);

“The configuration management, system integration and testing of the entire software source code of the Command Control System are also carried out under the responsibility of HAVELSAN. HAVELSAN has gained important capabilities in this integration process. For example, HAVELSAN is involved in the modernization business of Pakistan's Agosta class submarines, of which STM is the main contractor, with its own war management system, Seda. We see all of these as very important capability gains in our domestic and national submarine target. As in every field, we aim for full independence in submarines, one of the most difficult technologies of the defense industry. Regardless of the circumstances and circumstances we are in, we will never deviate from this goal. Even while fighting the coronavirus disease that the whole world is dealing with, we continue these studies by applying all security measures at the highest level. " made statements.

Reis Class Submarine Project (Type-214 TN) and TCG Piri Reis (S-330)

Submarines referred to as Type-214TN (Turkish Navy) in the international literature were first named the Djerba Class. After the revision process, they started to be named as the current name, the Reis Class. It is aimed to construct and supply 6 New Type submarines with air independent propulsion system (AIP) at Gölcük Shipyard Command with maximum local contribution.

The Reis class submarine procurement project was initiated by the Defense Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) decision in June 2005. The total cost of the project being conducted is expected to be ~ 2,2 billion Euros.

The launch of the TCG Piri Reis (S-330) submarine, the first submarine of its class, was held on 22 December 2019 with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In the next stage, the equipment activities of the TCG Piri Reis submarine will continue in the pool and the submarine will enter the service of the Naval Forces Command in 2022 after the Factory Acceptance (FAT), Port Acceptance (LINE) and Sea Acceptance (SAT) Tests, respectively.

It is planned to build knowledge and experience in submarine construction, integration and systems with the project, which aims to construct and procure 6 New Type Submarines with air-independent propulsion system (AIP) at Gölcük Shipyard Command with maximum local contribution.

Reis Class Submarine General Features:

  • Length: 67,6 m (approx 3 m longer than standard submarines)
  • Boat thread diameter: 6,3 m
  • Height: 13,1 m (excluding periscopes)
  • Underwater (in diving condition) displacement: 2.013 tons
  • Speed (on the surface): 10+ knots

Information Distribution System to 6 Submarines in the New Type Submarine Project from HAVELSAN

Submarine Information Distribution System (DBDS) productions performed by HAVELSAN were successfully carried out for 6 submarines.

Within the scope of the project initiated by the Defense Industry Presidency based on the need of the Naval Forces Command, the development of DBDS for the first submarine was initiated in September 2011. For the development, production and testing of DBDS systems, a Hardware and Embedded Software Development team of 9 people worked in HAVELSAN for 20 years.

Following the successful completion of the last factory acceptance tests, the submarine information distribution systems of TCG Piri Reis, TCG Hızır Reis, TCG Murat Reis, TCG Aydın Reis, TCG Seydiali Reis and TCG Selman Reis submarines were completed.
