Environment and Urban Planning Minister Murat Kurum examined the earthquake houses built for citizens whose homes were damaged in the 6,8 magnitude earthquake in Elazig. Stating that 2 thousand 500 houses are ready for delivery in Elazig, the Minister Institution stated that 8 thousand houses will be completed by the end of the year.
Minister Institution, Akçakiraz, Yazıkonak, who came to Elazig to examine the urban transformation works initiated after the earthquake on January 24, Karşıyaka, Çatalçeşme, Aksaray and Bizmişen visited the construction sites. The Institution, which inspects the completed and on-going houses on site, also listened to the demands of the citizens.
8 Thousand Houses Will Be Completed By The End Of The Year
The Minister Institution stated that 2500 houses have been completed in Elazig and 8 thousand houses will be completed by the end of the year.
Minister Institution said, “As you know, an earthquake centered on Sivrice occurred at the beginning of 2020. Within the framework of the earthquake felt in both Elazig and Malatya, we quickly started our work. We mobilized for Elazig. Yesterday we mobilized for Elazig. Today, we are doing all the necessary work to heal the wounds of our Izmir. On that day, we promised our citizens the following. Before the end of a year, we will deliver our residences in stages and hopefully we have promised that we will take steps to improve the quality of life in our Elazig and Malatya by delivering projects with all kinds of sound and safe social infrastructure to our citizens. Thank God we are proud and happy to keep this promise today. On that day, we are witnessing the happiness of our citizens, who were waiting for their relatives under the rubble, in their solid homes. As of now, we have completed 19 houses out of 500 thousand 2500 houses that we have started in Elazığ and made them ready for delivery. We have stated that we will make 8 thousand houses ready by the end of the year and we will realize the biggest urban transformation of Elazig by finishing other houses in stages. Hopefully, we will deliver our residences in Elazig and Malatya to our citizens, with their schools, mosques, green areas, playgrounds, in stages. " He spoke in the form.
Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made up to 50 percent discount for earthquake houses in Elazig, Minister Kurum said, “Our President made discounts of up to 50 percent in house prices in order for our citizens to pay under favorable conditions. They shared this good news with our citizens. In this context, our citizens who are entitled to AFAD with a grace period of 2 years and zero interest for 18 years will be making their payments. Now, they will be living in our houses in a more peaceful, safer and happier way. I wish our houses, social facilities, schools and mosques to be beneficial to our Elazig and Malatya ”.
