From the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, a statement was made regarding the statements of Meral Akşener, Chairman of the Good Party, about the Aydın Denizli Highway Project and Çukurova Airport.

In order to prevent misperceptions that may arise due to the wrong information shared about the Çukurova Airport tender, it was deemed necessary to make the following explanations in order to inform the public correctly;
The statements that the infrastructure construction works of Çukurova Airport stopped, the tender price of the superstructure facilities was 300 million € and the guarantee was given for 12 million passengers are completely untrue.
The first tender of Çukurova Airport, which is planned to be built with the Build-Operate-Transfer Model, was held on 15.12.2011. The contract was terminated as of 31.08.2015 because the contractor firm who won the tender lagged behind the approved work schedule in terms of physical realization.
It was decided that the said investment would be realized with the own resources of DHMİ and it was included in the project investment program. In this context; The infrastructure construction of the Çukurova Airport project (Runway, Apron and Parallel Taxiways, etc.) continues within the scope of the DHMİ investment program and the physical realization rate of the work is approximately 85%. As stated, infrastructure construction works have not stopped.
It has been evaluated that it would be more appropriate for the public interest to complete and operate the superstructure construction (terminal and associated facilities) with the Build-Operate-Transfer model.
In this context, its tender was held on 16.03.2020. Limak İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. / Kalyon Hav., One of the two bidders participating in the tender. ve İnşaat A.Ş. / Cengiz İnşaat San.ve Tic.A.Ş. has been excluded from the tender due to its joint venture's conditional offer. Other eager Günbeton İnşaat ve Tic. A.Ş. / Terminal Yapı Ticaret A.Ş. Joint Venture, on the other hand, has made an offer with a lease of 25 Euro for 100.000.000 years.
But; Since increasing the competition conditions would be more beneficial for the public interest, it was decided to cancel the tender.

Regarding the number of passengers guaranteed, a passenger guarantee has been given on the condition that it is limited to the first 12 years of the operating period, and the number of 2 million 353 thousand 787 domestic departures and 347 thousand 374 international departures are guaranteed. The statement that they are guaranteed 12 million passengers is completely false.
Adana Airport, which has a current capacity of 3 million passengers, served approximately 2019 million 5 thousand passengers as of the end of 60. The fact that the region needs a larger airport is obvious.
In addition, the project has been planned in 3 stages. The investment period planned for the completion of the 1st stage investments and putting the airport into service is 2,5 years and the operation period is 25 years. If the annual number of passengers reaches 8 million, Stage 2 works; If the number of passengers reaches 9 million, 3rd Stage works will be done.
The firm that won the aforementioned tender will invest 1 million Euros in the 103,7st stage, 2 million Euros in the 23,5nd stage and approximately 3 million Euros in the 30rd stage, in total 157 million Euros.
