WINTER PRECAUTIONS
When the danger of icing on the roads increases with cold weather, the danger increases even more with snowfall. While it is vital for every segment of the society to have the winter maintenance of civil or commercial vehicles, another important issue is winter tire. Within the scope of the Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency “AFAD” and the General Directorate of Provincial Administration's Winter Precautions Circular dated 10.11.2020, Kocaeli Provincial Disaster and Emergency Coordination Board convened and took a series of precautionary decisions.
1 DECEMBER DAY BEGINS
According to the decisions of the board; As of December 1, 2020, commercial vehicles (all types of commercial freight vehicles, passenger taxis, minibuses, minibuses, buses and service vehicles etc.) are obliged to use winter tires throughout Kocaeli province. In the statement made by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department, it will also be mandatory to have auxiliary equipment such as chains, towing ropes, wedges and small snow shovels in all civil or commercial vehicles.
FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTY
Our citizens need to be sensitive to the decisions taken. Those who do not comply with the decisions will be subject to financial and administrative penalties. The winter tire application, which started on Tuesday, December 1, will be valid until April 1, 2021.
