The "Sport on Ferry Project" was implemented in cooperation with IMM City Lines Inc. and IMM Spor Istanbul. At the event, which is held four times in the morning, two days a week, passengers exercise in their seats, accompanied by sports coaches. The project aims to combine sports culture with urban life and to remind the positive effects of sports on physical and mental health.
İBB Şehir Hatları AŞ collaborated with İBB Spor İstanbul to implement the "Sport on the Ferry" project. The event, which was implemented on two lines in the first place, is aimed to be started on different lines in the coming days.
THE OBJECTIVE IS TO REMEMBER THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF SPORTS
Stating that the project was tested with pilot implementations before it was initiated, Sinem Dedetaş, General Manager of Şehir Hatları AŞ, emphasized that sports have numerous benefits. Dedetaş summarized the purpose of implementing the project as follows:
“Sport has numerous benefits. Unfortunately, we neglect sports during daily running. With this event, our aim is to remind our passengers primarily of the positive impact of sports on physical and mental health. Demonstrate easy exercises that they can do in their home or workplace in a short time. Before starting the project, we tested it with pilot applications. The high participation of our passengers in these trials has encouraged and excited us. "
SPORTS AIMED TO SPREAD WIDE MASSES
Stating that they aim to combine sports culture with urban life and increase the quality of life of the society, Spor İstanbul General Manager İ.Renay Onur said, “We want to spread sports to large masses. Therefore, this work with Şehir Hatları is one of our activities that excites me the most. We support morning sports with trainers in more than sixty parks, squares and gardens, outdoors. We want to diversify this and increase the number ”he said.
TWO LINES STARTED
The project will be held in Beşiktaş on Mondays.Kadıköy on the line, 08.45-10-15; It started to be applied on the Üsküdar-Eminönü line on Wednesdays, between 09.00-11.05.
EXERCISES ACCORDING TO THE SOCIAL DISTANCE RULES
Experienced sports instructors of Spor Istanbul provide passengers with exercises to work, stretch and relax their neck, shoulder and back muscles, without getting up from their seats. In accordance with the social distance rule, sitting exercises do not increase the heart rate and do not sweat. The exercise programs accompanied by the majority of passengers take about 15 minutes. Sports teachers also explain the positive contribution of exercises to spine and muscle health.
