New demand from van route activists for pier

The Iskele Coastal Road, which was demolished in March following the project of expanding the railway maneuver area made by TCDD in the Van Ferry Pier area, started to be reconstructed. The coastal promenade, which many parts of the city raised their voice for rebuilding and wanted to be rebuilt, started again after intense pressure. While the reconstruction of the beach promenade created joy, the Van Lake Activists demanded the creation of areas on the sides of the coastal road with 1,5-step seating stairs 3 meters wide.

Van Lake Activists stated that they demanded the creation of areas in the Van Ferry Pier, where the walkway was rebuilt, with 1,5 stairs 3 meters wide where people can sit and rest, and watch the sea and the ancient city of Van, just like the Istanbul Maiden's Tower. Speaking on behalf of Van Lake Activists, the president of the association Erdoğan Özel said, “Just like you get the chance to sit in Üsküdar, Istanbul and watch the Maiden's Tower. We want it to be built in the same beauty on the Van Iskele Coast Road. Three-step steps can be made, if done, I am sure it will create a very nice visual. A much better place can be made there with very little touches. " He found his statements.

"COAST ROAD HAS A SPECIAL LOCATION FOR VAN"

Erdogan Özel, President of the Van Lake Activists Association, who also made an assessment on the subject in our newspaper, said: “Last year, it started to collapse suddenly. That is the place of the Railways itself. They did the two of Turkey's largest ferry and wanted to expand the demolished there. They previously stated that the coastal road would not be built, but now they have decided to do it again. We went there and got information about why this was destroyed. We expressed our views on the reconstruction of this beautiful place, which is used by the public. I would also like to say that it has a very special place for Van. "

"THIS BEAUTY AND VISIBILITY IS AVAILABLE IN Few CITIES"

Stating that people used their vacation days by coming here, Özel said, “Thousands of people were visiting there. The peculiarity of the place was that you had the chance to walk into the sea and see Van Castle, the city of Van, and even the Erek Mountain. This beauty and visuality exist in very few cities. Everyone wants to see such a beautiful place, and also has a very special place in terms of tourism options. All these beauties were destroyed suddenly. We knew that the governors and officials were working in this sense. Thanks to the deputy Abdullahat Arvas, we made several attempts in Ankara. They raised this issue there too. There were attempts at the coastal road in the general directorate of railways. And an 8-meter walkway was decided. Of course, we did not accept this process. It still continues in our initiatives. We stated that 8 meters is very little. Finally, we had a meeting with Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and explained the situation. We said it used to be close to 30 meters and it was a green area used by the public. We asked the minister to increase the area of less than 8 meters to 18 meters. The process continued and, if I'm not mistaken, it was increased from 8 meters to 12 meters. But our request for 10 meters still continues. " Said.

"SMALL TOUCHES CAN MAKE THE COAST ROAD A MUCH BETTER PLACE"

Expressing his current demands about the new road, Özel said, “It is the construction of stepped seats in Üsküdar, Istanbul. Just as you get the chance to sit there and watch the Maiden's Tower. We want it to be built in the same beauty on the Van Iskele Coast Road. Three-step steps can be made, if done, I am sure it will create a very nice visual. A much better place can be made there with very little touches. There is no big project, only three steps will be made for the concrete seating area. Lined in the stones, the mold binding event remains. It will be absorbed by the public and will be very important in terms of tourism. As Van Lake Activists, we demand these. " He spoke in the form.
