Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which took action quickly upon the request from the Provincial Directorate of Health, started free transportation service for citizens who have a coronavirus test and do not have a private vehicle. Stating that they aim to prevent citizens from using public transportation after the test, Metropolitan Municipality officials stated that the vehicles leave the citizens at the closest point to their homes.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which has been applying the Action Plan to Combat Coronavirus since March, aims to prevent the spread of the epidemic with a new service. The Metropolitan Municipality, which keeps private buses in front of the City Hospital, Yunus Emre State Hospital and ESOGÜ Faculty of Medicine, which are the hospitals where the Covid-19 test density is experienced the most, carries the citizens who have been tested with these vehicles to the closest point to their homes free of charge. The officials stated that a maximum of 13 people were carried in the vehicles and special compartments were made in the vehicle for the citizens who were tested, and the vehicles were disinfected after each time.
Stating that such a study was carried out to prevent citizens who were tested on the request from the Provincial Directorate of Health from using public transportation, the authorities pointed out that all citizens should be sensitive about masks, distance and hygiene rules in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
Stating that they are very satisfied with the service provided, citizens said, “We have been tested. We do not know if we are positive or negative. In this case, we are already in a bad situation psychologically. We could also use public transport and feel guilty thinking 'if I am positive'. But thanks to our Metropolitan Municipality, we will leave us to the closest point to our house by private vehicles. God bless those who think and practice! " They stated that citizens have a duty as much as the authorities to reduce the cases.
