Izmir earthquake witnessed the miracle salvation of many lives. With the devotion of the search and rescue teams, 14 cats, mostly from the Rıza Bey apartment, were rescued from the wreckage and treated day and night. The cats brought to the Small Animal Polyclinic in Kültürpark with the transport vehicles of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate Emergency Response teams who were on duty in the wreckage areas were treated by veterinarians.

In good condition

It was stated that the first of the cats brought to the polyclinic was rescued 75 hours after the earthquake, and the last one hundred hours after the earthquake. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Affairs Branch Directorate Central Polyclinic and Emergency Response Unit Responsible Veterinarian Cihan Ziyan stated that they first examined whether the cats rescued from the wreckage in the 24-hour polyclinic were in severe trauma. They do not have an orthopedic problem. In addition to those that were rescued from the wreckage, there are also cats we picked up and treated from wreckage circles. In addition, there are cats and dogs of our citizens who are currently staying temporarily in tents. "To protect them from the risk of infection in the parks, our teams are vaccinating internal and external parasites."

If they are not taken within a certain period of time, they will be claimed

Ziyan stated that many Izmir residents who wanted to adopt the cats rescued from the wreckage applied to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and said, “Thanks to the people of Izmir, they showed great sensitivity. "We will ensure that cats that are not taken by their owners within a certain period of time after completing the treatments are adopted by contacting the applicants."

The dear friends in tent areas are not forgotten either

On the other hand, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Affairs Branch Directorate teams completed the antiparasitic treatments of the life-allies of the earthquake victims who spent the night and the day outside.
