The deficiencies of 224 houses in four blocks belonging to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, whose construction was completed in Uzundere, were completed immediately after the earthquake. For a year, earthquake victims will use the flats, where electricity, water is connected, white goods and furniture are placed. As the survivors leave, they will also take the items to their new homes.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has accelerated its work so that the earthquake victims of Izmir can spend their winter months comfortably, eliminated the shortcomings of 56 houses in 4 blocks with 224 flats each in Uzundere. With the instructions of Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, who announced that these houses will be allocated to earthquake victims immediately after the earthquake, the electricity and water connections of the apartments were made and the apartments were cleaned. New items donated by important companies of the sector in white goods and furniture were also placed in residences. Survivors of the earthquake, who will have the right to live for one year in residences where all their needs such as washing machine, refrigerator, stove, oven, bed, sofa, carpet and curtain are completed, will be able to take their belongings with them when leaving the house.

"We will do everything we can"

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer stated that they put all the facilities of the Metropolitan into use for the earthquake victims living in tent areas to have healthy living areas as soon as possible and said, “We made 224 houses in Uzundere suitable for settling immediately with their fully furnished. The apartments are ready, waiting for their owners. We are opening 380 rooms in the Hilton hotel building to earthquake victims. In the place where Gaziemir District Garage is located, 58 flats will be allocated to earthquake victims. The support for the solidarity campaign "One Rent One Home", which will bring together the victims who need home and those who want to support them, is growing like an avalanche. "We will continue to do everything we can to prevent our citizens affected by the earthquake from staying in tents during the winter months."

Hilton is ready too

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality prepared 380 rooms in the old Hilton hotel building for earthquake victims. Metropolitan, which opened the 23,5-star hotel building, 5 percent of which belongs to the Municipality, for use for three months, will provide three meals a day for the earthquake victims in the hotel rooms.
