Football fields built by IMM in Yenikapı Event Area have come to an end. The facility, where the works have been completed, will host the training of football clubs and Amateur League matches. Football fields will be opened with a ceremony held at Yenikapı Sports Facility on October 14, 2020. In addition, the annual material support activity for Amateur Sports Clubs will be included in the ceremony.
Yenikapı football fields built by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) have been completed. There are two football fields, 68 × 105 meters and 45 × 90 meters, in the facility built in the Yenikapı Activity Area on the coast of Fatih. There are tribunes for 1000 people and 400 people on the fields covered with artificial grass and surrounded by steel construction.
Construction work has been completed in the facility, which includes team and referee dressing rooms, administrative departments, cafeteria and parking areas.
The facilities belonging to the IMM Directorate of Youth and Sports will be operated by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of IMM. Sports clubs and athletes continuing their activities in the region will be able to train here.
Supporting Amateur Sports Clubs every year, IMM also supports Amateur Sports Clubs this year. This year, IMM will distribute 20 materials in 115 branches, in 273.121 different items. In 2021, it is planned to provide sports equipment support of 12 million TL.
The program, which will be organized within the framework of social distance rules, will include 20 clubs only in the football branch, together with IMM Deputy Secretary General Murat Yazıcı, Amateur Sports Clubs Confederation President Ali Düşmez, Federation representatives and provincial managers.
At the ceremony, materials will be delivered to 1000 invited football clubs representing 20 sports clubs.
In the following days after the ceremony, materials will be distributed to the clubs in other branches, especially in football.
The branches to be given material support are as follows: Football, volleyball, basketball, handball, karate, judo, taekwondo, kickboxing, muay thai, wushu, court tennis, chess, table tennis, badminton, gymnastics, athletics, archery, futsal, swimming and wrestling
YENİKAPI SPORTS FACILITY
The facility, which consists of two football fields, was made ready for use in early March, but was not put into service within the scope of coronavirus measures. The facility will be a new training center for sports clubs in the region. Following the start of the leagues, Amateur League and infrastructure matches will be played here.
