Groupe Renault unveiled two new electric cars Renault Megane eVision and Dacia Spring at Renault eWays as part of its commitment to be carbon neutral in Europe by 2050.

As part of Renault eWays events between 15-27 October, Groupe Renault shares its vision of transition to new products and technologies as well as principles and zero carbon emission mobility. Renault eWays is an important milestone for the group that positions itself as the main actor in sustainable mobility and ecosystem for today and the future.

Speaking at the event, Renault Group CEO Luca De Meo said, “As a group, we are continuing our efforts to fulfill our commitment to zero carbon emissions in Europe by 2050. We aim to reduce our emission rate by 2030 percent by 2010 compared to 50. By 2022, all our models will have electric or electrified versions. Within 5 years, as the Renault Group, we plan to have 50 percent of our vehicles in the market electric or hybrid. "Renault Megane eVision, electric Dacia Spring and New Arkana E-TECH Hybrid are important parts of these plans."

Renault Group, which launched ZEO about 10 years ago, today offers electric mobility all over the world with 8 thousand vehicles, including 350 different models. In addition to the Group Electric product range, it offers a complete range of hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions with Clio, Captur, New Mégane and New Mégane Estate models and E-TECH Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid technology. New Renault Arkana is also included in this product range.

Renault Megane eVision: a new compact electric hatchback

The most important surprise of the eWays event was the electric Renault Megane. Renault Megane eVision, using the new CMF-EV platform exclusively for electric vehicles, redefines the compact hatchback model by combining coupe and SUV codes. This platform differs from the traditional dimensions of the segment and enables a vehicle with new lines and dimensions. Thus, 25 years after its first launch, a new page was opened for Megane.

Electric Dacia Spring: a new d-EV-rim from Dacia

Dacia will launch the trendy small city car electric Dacia Spring in 2021. Following the Logan and Duster models, Dacia Spring is preparing to revolutionize the market by making electric mobility accessible to everyone. Spring stands out as a simple, reliable and accessible solution for individual, shared or professional mobility.

With its innovative SUV appearance, the model has 4 seats, a record interior volume, a simple and reliable electric powertrain and a reassuring product range. The lightweight and compact electric Spring offers versatility both within the city and on intercity roads, with a driving range of 225 km in the combined WLTP cycle and 295 km in the WLTP urban area.

Broader Renault E-TECH product range with three new hybrid models

In addition to electric mobility, Renault is also expanding its hybrid product range. The new Arkana E-TECH Hybrid, Captur E-TECH Hybrid and New Mégane hatchback E-TECH Plug-In Hybrid will be available in Europe in the first half of 2021.

The implementation of 12V micro-hybridization with the new Arkana and Captur meets every need, while remaining accessible and offering all possible electrification levels. Thus, the drivetrain series is completed.

Renault, a pioneer and leader in electric vehicles for more than 10 years, continues to bring its experience in Formula 1 to the automotive market. With this experience, the brand offers dynamic and efficient hybrid powertrains to a wider range of vehicles in the automotive market.
