Thyssenkrupp Asansör Became Elevator and Escalator Supplier for 2 Metro Lines in Istanbul

thyssenkrupp Elevator won the tenders for elevators and escalators for the Ataköy-İkitelli and Kirazlı-Bakırköy IDO metro lines.

thyssenkrupp Elevator will provide a mobility solution for these two new metro lines with a total of 71 elevators, 216 escalators and 6 moving walkways.

thyssenkrupp Elevator has become the elevator, escalator and escalator supplier of the Ataköy-İkitelli Metro to be implemented by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Kirazlı-Bakırköy IDO Metro (IS: METRO) lines, the project of the Ministry of Transport. Within the scope of the tender, thyssenkrupp Elevator will allow the people of Istanbul to travel quickly and safely with 45 elevators, 116 escalators, 6 moving walks to the Ataköy-İkitelli metro line, 26 elevators and 100 escalators to the Kirazlı-Bakırköy metro line.

In the new metro lines, which will be one of the most important projects of the city with their stops and lengths, high performance and high carrying capacity Victoria model escalators used in metro projects in Europe, Asia and America will be used. The heavy-duty Victoira escalator, designed for uninterrupted service and mobility 7 hours a day, 24 days a week, will provide users with a high safety travel opportunity in all climatic conditions. The elevators, developed for high safety and carrying capacity, will be a solution to the mobility of areas such as the subway with the feature of 180 movements per hour, as well as meeting European norms.

The metro lines, which are planned to be completed in 2022 and open to the service of the people of Istanbul, will have a total length of 28 km, 19 stations and a capacity of 105 thousand passengers per hour. Thanks to fast transfer points to Metrobus, Marmaray, Başakşehir-Kirazlı and Aksaray-Airport subways, the European Side will be united from east to west.
