Domestic automakers all over the world with resounding Turkey's new transport strategy will become the subject of continuous research and development with the support of the academy. Mobilty-LAB (Mobility Systems Research Center), which will be established within Yıldız Technopark in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Yıldız Technical University, will correctly interpret the mobility with scientific data and produce successfully applicable studies.
Due to the denser population, mobility in cities is increasing day by day. In parallel, Turkey's case has become a necessity to create a new transport strategies. For this purpose, Mobilty-LAB (Mobility Systems Research Center) is established within Yıldız Technopark in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Yıldız Technical University. The protocol regarding the center to be established to increase national movement was signed by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and Yıldız Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. It was signed between Tamer Yılmaz. With this cooperation, projects will be produced by carrying out R&D and engineering studies that can occur within the framework of the national mobility strategy and action plan at Mobility-LAB.
SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO MOBILITY
Before the protocol ceremony held at Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Campus, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu visited Yıldız Teknopark and received information about the projects implemented by Yıldız Technopark companies, YTU students and academicians.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of 'Mobility Systems Research and Center - Mobility LAB, Minister Karaismailoğlu underlined that scientific studies will be carried out on mobility systems that change the face of transportation in cities and differentiate people's mobility behaviors at urban and national levels.
Minister Karaismailoğlu spoke as follows: “There has been a 18% increase in the number of our vehicles in the last 164 years. In 2020, our total number of vehicles exceeded 23 million 650 thousand. 54 percent of our current vehicle number consists of cars. Karaismailoğlu emphasized that mobility is a subject that includes many scientific fields such as social sciences, engineering and logistics, as well as a technical issue, and that it is necessary to handle future predictions in this field in a healthy way.
Stating that they can achieve a macro-scale perspective only through partnerships and collaborations they will establish with the academic world, Karaismailoğlu said, “In this context, our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Yıldız Technical University have scientific studies on mobility systems that change the face of transportation in our cities and differentiate people's mobility behaviors at urban and national levels. will execute.
