Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Hasan Çakırmelikoğlu drew attention to the importance of Samsun Sarp Railway Project.

Pointing out that the region has serious investments in air, land and sea transportation, President Çakırmelikoğlu said, “We see that it is inevitable to project the railway, which will contribute to the economic and social development of the Central and Eastern Black Sea Region, parallel to the coast in the east-west direction. Accordingly, the multi-purpose use of the railroad from Samsun to Sarp, which is in the planning stage, should be included in the priority criteria. Turkey north of Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize and Artvin as it connects directly to the provinces, regions remaining in the hinterland of the province in a short time would be incorporated into the transport line. The common feature of our region is the region that most migration in Turkey.

The most important reason for this is that investment opportunities are limited and thus employment opportunities are limited. The project will make a significant contribution to our region in solving economic, social and environmental problems, especially employment, with freight transport and high-speed train passenger transport. With the Samsun-Sarp Railway Project, the revival of tourism and trade in the provinces of the Black Sea Region is our primary expectation. Ensuring the Samsun-Batumi connection, the Black Sea, which is one of the important transition points between Asia and Europe, will eliminate the biggest deficiency of logistics and our region will rise to an important position in reaching the Central Asian market thanks to the railway that will extend to Sarp. " said.

Referring to the fact that the railway is an important means of transportation in tourism, Çakırmelikoğlu emphasized that more people will reach the natural beauties of the region with this investment.
