Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they have reached a 78 percent realization rate in the infrastructure works at Rize-Artvin Airport and said, "I hope we plan to open Rize-Artvin Airport in these seasons next year," he said.

Karaismailoğlu stated that the construction works of Rize-Artvin Airport, which will cut off the feet of Artvin residents, are continuing at full speed, and that Rize-Artvin Airport will contribute to the increase of trade relations with neighboring countries in the Eastern Black Sea region, and will contribute to the development of both city centers and districts of touristic value in these provinces, expressed.

The airport, which has a terminal building with a capacity to serve 3 million passengers, will fully meet the air transportation needs of the region with its 34-meter-long runway located between Pazar districts, 54 kilometers from Rize, 125 kilometers from Hopa and 3 kilometers from Artvin.

Stating that they have reached a 78 percent realization rate in the infrastructure works of the airport, Karaismailoğlu said that we plan to open the Rize-Artvin Airport in these seasons next year.
