Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, who came to Malatya to make some contacts and examinations, visited the Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Selahattin Gürkan in his office.

In addition to the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Malatya Governor Aydın Baruş, AK Party MKYK Member Malatya Deputies Bülent Tüfenkci, Öznur Çalık, AK Party Malatya Deputies Ahmet Çakır, Hakan Kahtalı, AK Party Provincial Chair İhsan Koca, District Mayors and Metropolitan Municipality officials attended.

Gürkan: Malatya is an important center for humanity

Expressing his pleasure to host the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure in Malatya and the Metropolitan Municipality, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Selahattin Gürkan said, “When we describe our Malatya, we describe it as the epic city where human civilization began and Anatolia was the Homeland. Malatya is the place where the first state and bureaucratic life began in history, where the first accounting records and customs clearance procedures were carried out. The evolution from the first stone age to the iron age and the use of iron as a sword corresponds to this period. In this respect, Malatya is an important center for humanity.

When we look at the Turkish-Islamic history, even if it is said that the gates of Malazgirt and Anatolia were opened to Turks, we read that Khorasan Turks came here after 650 years. Hasan Gaziler, Hüseyin Gaziler and Battalgaziler start the Anatolian conquest process here. Considering that Hasan Gazi was martyred in the conquest of Sivas, Hüseyin Gazi in the conquest of Ankara and Battalgazi in the conquest of Eskişehir, we say that this is the epic city that made Anatolia the Homeland. Living here is also plagued and delusional. Why do we fall under the blame when we fail to do justice to what we do here. "When we fulfill our necessary services and responsibilities, we will aspire to wajhate, that is, honor."

Gürkan: We are continuing our work with great care.

Mayor Gürkan stated that they, as the Metropolitan Municipality, are working intensively in every part of Malatya and said, “As the Metropolitan Municipality, we have worked on 1500 km road construction this year. In the upcoming period, our colleagues are planning to make the necessary plans and continue their work with great care so that we will not have any settlements without asphalt, water and sewage.

Our work on our North and South Belt roads in Malatya continues. As a second alternative road, we completed the 15 km Anayurt Street and put it into service within this period. It is very important that the Northern Ring Road project is completed as soon as possible and the road connecting the east and west is completed and opened to traffic. "The Northern Ring Road, which will relieve Malatya traffic significantly, is also important in terms of traffic safety."

Mayor Gürkan also informed the Minister Karaismailoğlu about the problems faced by the district municipalities at the transportation point and stated that they expect their support in terms of solving these problems as soon as possible and making the necessary allowances.

During the visit, the mayors of the district informed the Minister Karaismailoğlu about the problems of their districts.

Metropolitan Mayor Selahattin Gürkan presented a painting, a lion statue and apricot to the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, in memory of the day.

Taking notes on the problems of Malatya, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they will do the necessary work as a ministry to solve the problems. Later, Minister Karaismailoğlu left the Metropolitan Municipality to examine the work done in Malatya on site.
