After the earthquake that shook İzmir, teams affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality delivered soup, doner and ayran for 33 thousand 255 people to the demolition area and the people of İzmir who spent the night in the parks. The distribution of 20 thousand bagels and boyoz with tea and cheese started in the morning.
According to the Kandilli Observatory, after the Aegean earthquake of 6,9 magnitude, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality was on the alert. Social Services, Social Projects, Culture Department and Grand Inc. teams supported primarily the people of İzmir who spent the night in the demolition area and parks with 73 vehicles and 172 personnel. The teams delivered a thousand food packages, 12 thousand bottles of water, 500 boxes of tea and sugar, 3500 liters of milk, 33 thousand 255 people soup, doner and ayran to the citizens affected by the earthquake. The distribution of 20 thousand bagels and boyoz with tea and cheese started in the morning.
In addition to the food support, 1000 fleece, 200 raincoats, 500 people clothing, 100 stoves, 500 blankets and 100 sacks of firewood were also delivered to Izmir residents. 100 shelters and 3 condolence tents were set up. 50 mobile toilets were put into service in tent areas. 450 blankets and mobile soup kitchens were sent to Seferihisar, which was greatly affected by the earthquake.
Izmir Industrialists and Business People Association delivered 9 thousand blankets and soup for 4 thousand people to the Metropolitan Municipality to deliver it to the people of Izmir.
95 thousand masks distributed
Pandemic measures were also taken for citizens who suffered from the earthquake or spent the night in parks. 95 thousand masks, 300 liquid soaps and 100 liters of disinfectant were distributed to the citizens.
