How to Get to Ankara TCDD Open Air Steam Locomotive Museum?

TCDD Open Air Steam Locomotive Museum is an open air railway museum located in the Maltepe district of Ankara's Çankaya district, on a part of the land of Ankara Station adjacent to Celâl Bayar Boulevard. Steam museum presents the history of the founding of the Republic of Turkey State Railways locomotives and owner. It was also a part of the Ankara Railways Museum, which included the TCDD Railways Museum and Art Gallery.

Moving the museum

The steam locomotives of the museum, which was opened in 1991, were moved to the TCDD Behiç Bey Facilities, next to the sports field, to the ground facing the Turkish Grain Board silos, due to the construction of the railway station to be built on December 5, 2013 as part of the High Speed ​​Train and Başkentray project. Currently, some of the locomotives are in the garden of METU Science and Technology Museum.
