The 2020 Marathon Mountain Bike World Championship excitement started with the Gran Fondo Sakarya race. The pedals will be turned on the Northern Marmara Motorway route in the race, where President Ekrem Yüce has started and is attended by nearly 200 bicycle enthusiasts.
The excitement of the 2020 UCI Marathon Mountain Bike World Championship started in the Sunflower Bicycle Valley with the Gran Fondo Sakarya race event. 100 athletes participated in the 55-kilometer long track and 50 athletes in the 143-kilometer short course, which was launched by President Ekrem Yüce and is open to all cycling fans. In addition to the race start to the President of the Supreme Provincial Police Director Fatih Kaya, Turkey Cycling Federation President Erol Küçükbakırc of Metropolitan General Secretary Mustafa Ak and members of the press attended. After the first 3-kilometer warm-up lap of the race, the athletes will turn their pedals on the Northern Marmara Motorway route. Athletes who are entitled to take the podium after the race will receive their awards.
