Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they continue new investments in every corner of 81 provinces for the holistic development of the country's geography and that they have implemented giant projects one by one, which the world envied, “Our airports and airlines are of great importance among these investments. While every point of the country is connected from the air as well as from the land, we also strengthen our social and economic ties with the world. The Regional Aviation Policy and civil aviation initiated by our Ministry in 2003 has entered a very rapid growth process. As our President pointed to us, the airline became the way of the people in a short time. We increased our number of airports from 2003 in 26 to 56. We have increased our flight service from 2 centers to 26 points on domestic lines to 7 destinations from 56 centers. We carried our international flights to 50 destinations in 60 countries to 127 destinations in 329 countries. Our passenger traffic, which was 2003 million in domestic and international flights in 34, exceeded 2019 million in 209. With these investments, our sector turnover increased from 2,2 billion dollars to 27,2 billion dollars and our country took its place among the leading countries in the world in the field of aviation. Today, we are taking firm steps towards becoming an international center not only for our region but also for the whole world in every mode of transportation. Our giant projects, which we have put forward to perfect the transportation across the country and to serve our people with the most up-to-date technologies in the field of communication, carry our country to its great goals. Transportation and communication have always been a national issue for us during our 18 years of power. With these thoughts, we have created a work plan by bringing together the steps that will add value to the investments made so far, our new projects to be implemented and our reform efforts under the heading of 'National Transport and Infrastructure Policy'. I hope you will proudly follow the great works we will do within this comprehensive road map. "

Stating that they are aware of the importance of every project that will strengthen Malatya's transportation network, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “We know very well that Malatya's need for air transport, which is the main actor of international transportation and trade, is increasing with its ever-growing economy. We brought Mr. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's instructions with the airline revolution in 2003 began investing in this area with all the developments in Malatya is also very important as it is in Turkey. Aircraft traffic, which was 2003 thousand in 96, increased by 2019 percent in 392 to 5. The number of passengers, which was 389 thousand, exceeded 89 thousand. We previously increased the capacity of our terminal building, which has a current capacity of 750 thousand passengers. In this way, the economy of Malatya has grown in the last 500 years, its prosperity has increased and more investments are needed. We determined that the extensions made due to the increasing passenger demand for airline transportation could not meet the future needs. For this purpose; We decided to build a new terminal building in Malatya, suitable for the desired service quality in passenger service, and completed the project work. On November 18, 2, we will hold the tender for 'Construction of Malatya Airport Terminal Building and Supplements'. We will bring a new terminal building in Malatya with an area of 2020 thousand 26 square meters and a capacity of 765 million passengers. It will not only build a terminal building; We will also build 2,5 thousand 2 square meters of Heat and Power Center Building, 495 square meters of Apron Barrier Building, Airport Entrance Regulations Building, Airport Internal Connection Roads, parking lot, treatment facility and 112 thousand 48 square meters of Apron and Ground Services Vehicle Area. We are building a modern airport in Malatya that is fully developed and without any deficiencies. With its new terminal building and other complementary facilities, Malatya will assume a much more important position in air transport and traffic. There will be an increase in the number of domestic and foreign visitors coming to Malatya. It will contribute to the development of regional tourism. Trade activities will be more active. Malatya strengthens the transport and communication infrastructure, we are also preparing the future of Malatya, as well as all of Turkey. " said.
