The Project That Will Reduce The Density Between Gebze And OIZs Is Proceeding Quickly

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which brings comfort to Kocaeli's transportation, continues its work on the "Gebze District TEM Highway Bridges Connection Roads 1st Stage Construction Work", one of its giant projects. While the earthworks and asphalt paving works of some parts are completed within the scope of the project, a new culvert will be built for the stream passing under the highway viaduct.

A 12-KILOMETER SIDE ROAD IS BUILDING A METROPOLITAN

While the bridges within the scope of the project are being built by the Highways, the side roads and participation branches are built by the Metropolitan Municipality Directorate of Science Affairs. Within the scope of the works, a total of 3 thousand 3 meters of side roads will be built, 150 thousand meters in the southern part and 6 thousand 150 meters in the northern part. The length of the road built with participation branches and other roads will be 12 km.

SUBSTRUCTURE AND SUPERSTRUCTURE WORKS CONTINUE INTENSIVELY

Within the scope of the works, Metropolitan Municipality teams are doing the asphalt paving, guardrail and grounding production on a part of the south side road, while rainwater, stone wall and other different productions are carried out on the northern side roads. New drinking water and sewerage productions will be made on the southern side roads and the power line will be taken underground. A 9 × 3 meter culvert will be built for the stream coming from Arapçeşme District to the direction of Kirazpınar Mahallesi. Infrastructure and superstructure works continue intensively within the scope of the project.

THE PROJECT WILL MEASURE THE TRAFFIC INTENSITY

In the Tembelova and Kirazpınar bridges on TEM Highway, which connects Gebze OIZ regions, Gebze district center and D-100 Highway, traffic density is experienced especially in the morning and evening hours. Within the scope of the project that Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will implement jointly with the General Directorate of Highways, one-way continuous, side roads are being built parallel to the TEM Highway in the north and south. Turning points are being built to allow crossings between both side roads. Thus, all signalized intersections on the east-west axis will be eliminated. The project is expected to be completed in 500 days.

4 NEW BRIDGES WILL BE BUILT

4 new bridges will be built within the scope of the project, which will greatly ease the transportation network in the region. Tembelova and Kirazpınar Bridges, which currently serve as 2 times 1 in the motorway location between Kirazpınar Neighborhood and Sultan Orhan, İnönü and Arapçeşme Neighborhoods, will be demolished and rebuilt with 2 times 2 lanes. Also within the scope of the project, two new bridges with 2 times 1 lane to the west of Tembelova Bridge and 2 times 1 lane to the east of Kirazpınar Bridge will be built.

METROPOLITAN WILL DO 12 KILOMETER SUPERSTRUCTURE WORK

Within the scope of the project, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will construct a total of 12 kilometers of road to the north and south sides of the bridges built by the Highways, including the separation and joining lanes. Within the scope of the work, he carries out the work of superstructure, drainage lighting, rainwater infrastructure and small art structures.
