MARMARA AND THE THROAT WILL BE WATCHED WITH 83 CAMERA

Within the scope of the project "Performing Marine Inspections by Drones (UAV) and Camera Systems Installed on Coasts" prepared by IMM Directorate of Marine Services, camera systems were installed in 83 of the points determined on the coasts of Istanbul. Thanks to the system, land-sourced and sea-sourced wastes formed on the coasts and on the sea surface are detected. Then, mobile cleaning teams are instantly directed to areas with pollution. With the use of drones (UAV) and high resolution cameras, the control of marine pollution will increase in the Bosphorus and Marmara Sea, where an average of 45000 ships per year pass.
