The Ministry of National Education shared all the details on how to conduct exams in schools with the letter sent to 81. In the article, which was reminded that students will be responsible for the entire curriculum at the beginning of the Academic Year, it was announced that measurement and evaluation practices will be carried out in the first period of the 2020-2021 academic year in primary, secondary and high schools in line with the Kovid-19 measures.

With the signature of the Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, he sent two separate letters to the provinces regarding face-to-face education and exams in primary and secondary schools and high schools.

According to the post sent, the assessment and evaluation practices made in high schools so far will be valid. The exam application schedule will be determined by the board of directors of the educational institution and will be announced to all students in time by the administration of the educational institution. Exams will be applied by giving one class hour for each exam, including Saturdays if needed, and exam questions will be prepared in accordance with this period.

In addition, the exams of physical education and sports, visual arts and music classes will be practiced in high schools.

In exam applications, the seating plan of the students will be carried out in a way to protect the physical distance, taking into account the use of masks and hygiene rules. Measures related to the Kovid-19 outbreak in all measurement and evaluation practices will be carried out completely and on time according to the Development of Hygiene Conditions in Educational Institutions, Infection Prevention and Control Guide.

Students in need of accommodation during the examination process, upon request, will be able to benefit from school hostels in accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation, either paid or free boarding according to their conditions.

Students who have a chronic disease in themselves or any family members they stay with, and students who are quarantined due to catching or being in contact with Kovid 19 or any of their family members, and therefore cannot attend the exams within the period of time at the educational institution and The exam will be taken in an isolated environment by applying the necessary precautions.

Exam application principles in primary and secondary schools

On the other hand, distance education activities will be included in the scope of measurement and evaluation along with face-to-face education activities in public and private primary schools, secondary schools and imam hatip secondary schools.

In line with the decisions taken by the provincial and district directorates of national education in cooperation with the sanitation committees, measurement and evaluation practices will be carried out as before the epidemic in accordance with the provisions of the relevant regulations in face-to-face education schools 5 days a week.

The exams will be held in the school environment, but the student who has a chronic illness or is sick or in contact due to the Kovid-19 epidemic will take the exam at an appropriate time and in an isolated environment in the school.

Students who cannot participate in the exams for any reason and whose excuses are deemed appropriate by the school administration will be taken to the exam at a time determined by the course teacher and by prior notice to the student.

In the exams to be held in schools, the measurement and evaluation principles in the curriculum of the course will be complied with and the date of the exams will be decided by the board of class and field group presidents at schools.

Exam duration for each course to be examined will be planned as one course hour and the exam will be prepared in accordance with this period. If deemed necessary, it will be possible to hold exams in schools on Saturdays. Exam dates will be announced to the students at least one week in advance and will be recorded in the e-school system.

Students enrolled in boarding regional secondary schools and following the education and training process through distance education will be able to stay in the hostel on the days of their exam dates, taking into account the boarding capacity, transportation conditions and hygiene conditions.

Participation points will be given to course activities

According to the students' participation in face-to-face education, live lessons or EBA TV follow-up and lesson activities, each lesson will be given 2 lesson hours per week, and students with more than 2 hours per week will be awarded 2 lessons.

No exams will be held in visual arts, music, physical education and games, physical education and sports, traffic safety, human rights, citizenship and democracy, technology and design, information technologies and software, the life of the Prophet, basic religious knowledge and elective courses. The term points of these courses will be created with the participation points in the course activities and the project points, if any.

It will be ensured that project and course activities applications can be presented face-to-face or live lecture and in other online (such as e-mail) environments, depending on the nature of the course.

In the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, if there is an examination or assessment application that has been carried out so far, these will be valid and will be processed into the e-school system.

In all measurement and evaluation practices, all measures for the Kovid-19 outbreak will be taken completely and on time.
