İzmir Metropolitan Municipality is starting the application of electronic HES Code control in public transportation vehicles as of Friday, October 30, in accordance with the decision taken by the İzmir Governorship Provincial Hygiene Board within the scope of efforts to combat the pandemic. In the first place, personalized (with photo) Izmirim Card boarding information will be shared with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey every day. Citizens are required to match their personalized and bearer İzmirim cards with their HES Codes through the address “hes.eshot.gov.tr” until 15 November.

In the first stage, the boarding information of the personalized (with photo) Izmirim Card holders will be shared with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey every day. Both personalized and bearer Izmirim Cards are required to be matched electronically with HES Codes until the evening of Sunday, November 15th. Thus, all boarding to public transportation vehicles in the city will be monitored electronically. Boarding information will be shared daily with the Ministry of Health. The Ministry will identify patients or contact persons who are outside while they should be in quarantine and initiate criminal proceedings.
How to register?
ESHOT General Directorate, which operates the smart fee collection system in Izmir, has created a special website for citizens to match their HES codes and TR ID numbers with the Izmirim Card they use. Every citizen who enters the site at hes.eshot.gov.tr will be able to match only for one Izmirim Card. On the site, which is designed to be very easy to use, citizens will enter and register the requested information in one step. The exchange and update of the HES Code or other personal information can also be done on the same site.
