Who is İhsan Yüce

İhsan Yüce (January 23, 1929, Elazığ - May 15, 1991, Istanbul), Turkish film and theater actor, scriptwriter, director and poet.

He studied at İzmir Atatürk High School and the Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences. He worked as an accountant in private companies for a while. He started his artistic career in 1952 at the Public and Children's Theater in Izmir. He founded Bizim Tiyatro, which has a seasonal life. He worked at Lale Oraloğlu Theater between 1965-1966. He founded the Ankara Drama Theater with his three friends in 1968. He staged the plays titled Crime and Punishment and Stage Lights in this theater and attracted attention. He continued his studies at Gen-Ar, Arena and Direklerarası Theaters.

He went to cinema as an actor with the movie Golden Tuber. He continued acting in films such as Senede Bir Gün, Bir Millet Awakiyor, and Sürtüğün Kızı directed by Ertem Eğilmez. Meanwhile, he started writing scripts. He founded Aslıer Film and made the movie Hayat Cehennemi, which he wrote, directed and acted. He received the Most Successful Supporting Actor award at the 1976 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for his composition in Here's Life. In 1981 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, he received the Most Successful Actor Award for his role in Derya Gülü.

Yüce, who has played in more than 125 films, also has painting and sculpture works. Most of his poems have not been published; his most famous poem is Ekmek Şarap You and Me. He was buried in the Karacaahmet cemetery after his death in 1991.
