IMM will provide full capacity transportation services in the new period in order to maintain a safe distance in public transportation vehicles used by millions of Istanbulites every day.
As the number of new cases increased again in the process of combating the coronavirus epidemic, the Ministry of Interior issued a circular. With the circular, while regulating the passenger capacity of urban public transportation vehicles, it was obligatory to wear masks in all areas except residential areas, and live or recorded music broadcasting was prohibited in all entertainment venues including all food and beverage.
With the circular published on September 8, fifty percent of standing passengers for rail system vehicles; On the other hand, in metrobus and public transport buses, the relevant units were reported to carry passengers equal to the number of seated passengers and one third of the standing passenger capacity.
IMM will continue the measures it has taken to ensure that people arrive quickly and safely in the new period. In this context, bus, metrobus, metro, tram and sea transportation systems, which provide public transportation services in order to prevent the partial density experienced in Istanbul during peak hours, will serve at full capacity. In public transportation, the decisions of the Provincial General Hygiene Council will be meticulously implemented.
IETT, one of the affiliated organizations of IMM, will continue its measures for passengers to travel at a safe distance. With a fleet of 2.623 vehicles, with 18.614 daily trips, IETT will make 5.599 daily trips with a total of 45.010 buses, including the redbud colored Bus AŞ and Private Public Buses, which it has planned for its lines and voyages. In addition to these lines, 614 flights will be carried out with 6.600 BRT vehicles.
