Goodyear successfully returned from Le Mans, the world's most prestigious endurance race, which took place this weekend. Competing with Goodyear tires in the LMP2 class in the race, 2 teams crowned their success by taking the podium.
This year's 24 Hours of Le Mans was the first Le Mans challenge Goodyear has participated in since his return to international motorsport, which he announced during the same event last year. Since then, the Goodyear Racing team has worked closely with all partner teams, constantly preparing for the tough race.
Two of these teams qualified for the podium at the end of 24 hours of tough competition. In the 24-car LMP2 class challenge, JOTA finished second, while Panis Racing came third. The podium success of the two teams in this tough challenge is proof of the race-wide performance and durability of Goodyear tires, which are tire suppliers for five of the 2 vehicles in the LMP24 category.
Goodyear EMEA Motorsports Director Ben Crawley, on the subject; “We are happy to crown this challenging race with a double podium success. The JOTA and Panis Racing teams did a great job and we are proud to work closely with them to maximize performance. ACO, which has organized such a successful organization after a difficult period, also deserves recognition. It's great to be here again. " he spoke.
The Jota team gave a spectacular 24-hour performance with pilots Anthony Davidson, Antonio Felix da Costa and Roberto Gonzalez. The Panis Racing team drivers who finished third in the race were Nico Jamin, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Julien Canal. The French trio also had an excellent race at home.
Algarve Pro Racing, one of the Goodyear teams, achieved a notable success, finishing in eighth place with its striking black color and Goodyear logo.
Goodyear Resilience Program Manager Mike McGregor said; “I congratulate the JOTA and Panis teams who have made it to the podium. These two teams and Algarve Pro Racing demonstrated a strong challenge throughout the entire race. The development work we carried out directly with the teams, such as the 'B type' dough component that we specially designed for Le Mans, paid off. Goodyear tires proved their durability throughout the race. "
Goodyear Blimp was in the sky during the race
Goodyear was not only on the track for 24 Hours of Le Mans, but also in the sky with the iconic Goodyear Blimp. The iconic Goodyear Blimp has also appeared in this important race, following its return to Europe this year.
The Goodyear Blimp provided its guests with an exciting flight experience throughout Le Mans, as well as capturing unique aerial views of the race.
Regarding the Goodyear Blimp, Ben Crawley said: “This week our eyes were not only on the track, but also in the sky above the track. Seeing the Goodyear Blimp for the first time at a European race since the 1980s was a huge opportunity and a remarkable success for all of us. Thanks to ACO who helped make this happen. ”
