Suat Hacısalihoğlu said, “The project for the Erzincan-Gümüşhane-Trabzon railway, for which the infrastructure project tender was held in 2018, was delivered to the relevant institution. We expect this project to be included in the investment program and to continue. The main purpose of our request for the Erzincan-Gümüşhane-Trabzon railway is; The operation of the mineral deposits in Gümüşhane, which is the economic region, to contribute to the economy, to create added value, to increase exports by developing employment and to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region. It is clear and clear that the route that will emerge as the project extends from Erzincan to Trabzon via Gümüşhane and from the coast to the industrial zone and logistics zone will be more economically profitable. The subject we are focusing on is in this direction. "We must do our part to include the project in the investment program."
Eyyüp Ergan, Chairman of Trabzon Commodity Exchange, stated that Erzincan-Gümüşhane-Trabzon railway has an extremely important role in the economic development of the region and emphasized that they are ready to take all necessary steps.
Gümüşhane TSO President İsmail Akçay reminded that the implementation project, which cost 20 million TL, was delivered to the State Railways and said:
“A 100-year-old project planned on the historical silk road. Trabzon, which is one of the most important transportation and logistics points of our region and our country, has a completely different location and the right decision was made while preparing the project. The most profitable point where all the states on the Black Sea can be contacted with the Middle East, Far East and especially China is Gümüşhane-Erzincan via Trabzon. Crowning the historical Silk Road with rail is a goal we all expect. This project is not today's project. It is a goal set 100 years ago. We, as Gümüşhane Chamber of Commerce and Industry, regretted the start of working on another alternative while waiting for the project of such an important route to be included in the full investment program. We claim that we are on the most economical and profitable route on the historical Silk Road. Even if a project will be made to eliminate the development difference between provinces and regions, this is the route again. While all these are ignored and waiting for our project to be included in the investment program, I do not find it right to come up with different routes. Resources should be used in the most profitable way. "
Akçay emphasized that in the studies carried out so far, it was revealed that the beneficial and profitable route was Erzincan-Gümüşhane -Trabzon, and continued his words as follows:

Kelkit TSO President Mustafa Servet Daltaban said, “Our key point and port city is Trabzon, ultimately the main route to which the railway will be connected is Trabzon. "In order for Erzincan and Gümüşhane to progress economically, the route must descend to Trabzon from this line."
