Unhealthy Trees Are Renewed in Istanbul

The dry and sick plane trees in IMM, Dolmabahçe and Çırağan streets are renewed. After the renewal of trees that pose a risk to citizens with sudden branch breakage events, the green area texture in the region will have a healthier appearance. In order not to cause accidents during the working process, tall trees were shortened. In the studies conducted by the academic board, information about the sick and dry plane trees is transmitted to the conservation board. Interventions for trees are made in line with the permission issued by the board. Renovation work is carried out with trees determined by the academic board in height and size.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is removing the dry and sick plane trees on the Dolmabahçe and Çırağan streets, one of the symbolic routes of the city, to plant new ones in their places. Studies are carried out under the consultancy of an academic board. The academic board not only determines the health status of the trees, but also determines the height and size of the trees to be planted. Dry and sick trees and information are reported to the conservation board in order to take necessary action. Necessary interventions for trees are made according to the permissions issued by the board.

THE LENGTH OF THE TREES HAS BEEN SHORTENED TO PREVENT THE ACCIDENT

However, due to the windy weather conditions and the dry and weakened trees in the region, sudden branch breakage events may be encountered. IMM took the necessary measures without losing time to prevent these sudden branch breaks from harming the citizens. By shortening the height of the tall trees in the region, this route, which is used extensively by both pedestrians and vehicles, made it safe.

THE ROUTE WILL HAVE A HEALTHY LOOK IN THE SHORT TIME

The work carried out to bring Dolmabahçe and Çırağan streets to a safer green area will be completed as soon as possible. This route, which Istanbul residents use a lot, will have a new healthy appearance in terms of trees.
