Most of the materials, equipment and services needed for the construction of Oruç Reis, whose design was carried out by the SEFT Ship Design team, which was 100% domestic and completely composed of Turkish engineers, were procured domestically, and the opportunities and capabilities of the Turkish industry were evaluated in the most effective way. Oruç Reis also made history as the world's first ship to incorporate Seismic, Hydrographic and Oceanographic Research concepts; Turkey's 2D / 3D Seismic Survey feature with the first ship at a depth of 3000m and Turkey ROV survey also contains titles such as the ability to have the first scientific research vessel.

Private sector organizations or universities can use Oruç Reis's Seismic Research Ship facilities; In ground studies of ports, marinas and discharge lines planned to be carried out in marine areas; in nuclear power plant site selection and risk assessment; in submarine road and railway crossings ground studies; bridge sea crossings will be able to benefit from the ground surveys required for engineering or research projects. In addition, by using the facilities of Oruç Reis's Seismic Research Ship; sunken cities in the seas, ships, etc. Marine research projects based on archaeogeology / archeogeophysical methods will be conducted to identify ancient remains.
