Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Inc. (TAI) completed the simulator developed for HÜRJET, the Jet Training and Light Attack Aircraft.

Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Inc. (TAI) company, while bringing the latest technologies of the world to its facilities, continues to produce domestic aircrafts with great cooperation. The company, which has already designed the future of HÜRJET, which it will carry to the sky in 2022, takes the route of all aircrafts, especially HÜRJET, with the integrated facilities it is preparing to implement.

HÜRJET's simulator completed

In the past, simulators were produced after the aircraft was completed, and the delivery to the user was carried out long after the product was delivered. Having changed this working system with HÜRJET, TUSAŞ made ready to use an engineering simulator whose production started with the project schedule and gained the infrastructures to quickly reflect every on-board change to the simulator.

The simulator, which was started by the company on the start date of the project and completed in a short period of four months, is offered to the use of engineering teams and test pilots at the point reached, supporting design and production. Thanks to the simulator, in which all kinds of behavior of the aircraft are integrated, engineers can observe every behavior of the aircraft while it is in the production phase. In this way, the team, which determines the designs that need to change before integrating them into the aircraft, at the design stage, makes the aircraft safer, while advancing the project in accordance with its schedule.

The Risk of Accident Is Eliminated

After a plane is manufactured, after flight tests with pilots, it may sometimes be necessary to replace more than one part of the plane. Parts that are changed after production can cause a great loss in terms of both time and cost. Now, the teams, who have been informed about the behavior of the aircraft before the flight tests, state that when the test stages are reached, they will have an aircraft that is almost completely finished and approved by the pilots in many aspects, especially flight quality. While it is stated that the pilots know the aircraft more closely, it is emphasized that the accident risks will be eliminated to a great extent and an aircraft with superior features will be removed from the hangars.

Another Task: Increasing Motivation

The simulator, which is instrumental in eliminating mistakes, has another big task: Increasing motivation… Responding to the requests of the teams working in aircraft projects that have been going on for many years to see the aircraft as soon as possible, the simulator is a great source of motivation for the teams that experience flying with the plane they are trying to produce. This simulator, produced in TAI, makes another proud as one of the vehicles produced in the shortest time in the world.

Virtual Reality Room

Stating that it will also implement a virtual reality room in the area where the simulator is located, the company stated that it will also have the opportunity to examine the aircraft in a 3D and interactive environment with the relevant teams and users to the finest detail. Just outside the area, there will also be a test infrastructure that reflects the one-to-one final design of the aircraft in terms of mechanical hydraulic, flight control, electricity, referred to as "iron bird". Hydraulic, weapon tests and avionic systems tests will be carried out in the laboratory to be established. The facility in question is planned to grow day by day in two years and transform it into a gigantic one.

Planning the future of HÜRJET already, the team also introduces a concept called “Education 360”. With this concept, the team, aiming to train a student pilot in interaction with the plane from the first to the last day of the training, will blend classic and accepted training tools with virtual reality trainers, advanced maintenance trainers and tools that introduce the cockpit on tablets.

Jet Training and Light Attack Aircraft HÜRJET

The work of the HÜRJET project, which was initiated to be included in the inventory of the Turkish Air Force to replace the T-38M aircraft, whose avionics modernization was previously carried out by TAI and approaching the end of their structural life, continues at full speed. When the project, which is carried out according to its schedule, is completed, HÜRJET will play many important roles by having superior performance features with its single engine, tandem and modern avionic suit cockpit.

The company, which set great goals for itself when it started to work for HÜRJET, minimizes risks such as accidents and increases safety quality with the simulator, digital test and verification environments that it started to produce together with the aircraft.

The company will be presenting simulators and training aids to its end users on the day HÜRJET is completed, thanks to the project, which was implemented by seeking high quality production in a cost and short time with the latest technologies and realized only by the world's leading companies. In this way, the user will also receive the full mission flight simulator, onboard embedded training systems and computer-aided training systems with HÜRJET.

HÜRJET in the Sky at 2022

The simulator systems program carried out by the TAI Aircraft Deputy General Manager has a core team of 15 people. The program, which includes many units, continues to be developed with great cooperation. Employees, who closely examine all the work in the world, plan to carry an aircraft with high product quality, HÜRJET, to the sky in 2022, with these systems used only by the world's best brands.
