Adil Karaismailoğlu, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, said that the Ankara-Niğde Highway received great appreciation from the citizens and that nearly 10 thousand vehicles passed on the first day after it was opened.


Minister Karaismailoğlu, who examined the works in Dereli district of Giresun, which was affected by the flood, said in a statement to the journalists that the work on major projects across the country continues.

Emphasizing that none of these works were interrupted, Karaismailoğlu said, “One of the most important of these is the Ankara-Niğde highway. It was one of the biggest projects of our country. It has been an addition to the most important projects of our road transportation history. We have completed a 330 kilometer highway axle, a total road network of 1230 kilometers from Edirne to Şanlıurfa. This is one of the most important projects brought to our country. " he spoke.

Karaismailoğlu pointed out that there are very valuable projects in every part of the country such as the Ankara-Niğde Highway and said, “The Ankara-Niğde Highway is highly appreciated by the citizens. Regarding the work carried out after the disaster in Giresun, Karaismailoğlu stated that the state, ministries and related institutions work with great devotion.

Stating that there are 316 kilometers of road networks throughout Giresun, Karaismailoğlu reminded that there are bridges destroyed and roads damaged due to the disaster and continued as follows:

Our friends are working hard to ensure that the projects to be carried out from now on are not affected by the disaster. Hopefully, we will complete them as soon as possible and put them at the service of our citizens. We have been here since August 22nd. Giresun has always been our agenda and we have been together with our citizens. With their support, morale and motivation, we are overcoming all problems. "

Stating that one of the important projects in Giresun is the Eğribel Tunnel, Karaismailoğlu said:

“As long as we were in Giresun, we also made examinations in one of our most important projects, Eğribel Tunnel. Hopefully next year, a tunnel project on the route of Dereli, again on Şebinkarahisar from Dereli, is one of the most important projects of 6 thousand meters. It will be one of the longest tunnels in our country. When it is finished, it will add value to the region and significantly increase its economy, employment and trade. "

500 people are working in search activities

Stating that there will be much better developments in the coming days regarding ongoing transportation and infrastructure investments in Giresun, Karaismailoğlu said, “I hope we will do everything in our power to prevent such disasters from happening again. The saddest thing here is our losses due to the disaster. We reached most of our casualties, but examined the studies on missing disappearances on site. 500 people work devotedly to find the missing.
