The Izmir Fontu, produced by the Izmir Foundation for the promotion of the city at home and abroad, was introduced to the public at the 8-year-old Yeşilova Mound, the oldest known settlement in Izmir. Mayor Soyer stated that the Izmir Font will contribute to the branding of the city and invited all public and private institutions, non-governmental organizations, chambers and citizens in Izmir to use the Izmir Font.
İzmir Font, produced by İzmir Foundation as part of İzmir's branding work and the design process of which was carried out by designer Ahmet Altun, was introduced at the event held at the Bornova Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the promotional event. Mayor Soyer stated that Izmir Fontu is not only a typeface, but also designed to find unique and long-term solutions for the visual designs of Izmir, and said: “With the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Izmir Foundation and our city vision partnership, we see it as a whole and carry out comprehensive studies within this framework. Our work on visual identity is a very important part of this branding. The Izmir symbols on the Talatpaşa Boulevard and Fethi Sekin ferry were the first step of our future visual identity work. Today, we are taking these works to the next level with İzmir Font, which will contribute significantly to the branding of İzmir. I sincerely wish that the Izmir Font will be beneficial to Izmir and the people of Izmir.
