Mayor Soyer stated that the Izmir Font will contribute to the branding of the city and invited all public and private institutions, non-governmental organizations, chambers and citizens in Izmir to use the Izmir Font.

The Izmir Fontu, which was produced by the Izmir Foundation within the scope of the branding work of Izmir and whose design process was carried out by the designer Ahmet Altun, was introduced at the event held at Bornova Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center. Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, Izmir deputies Prof. Dr. Kamil Okyay Sındır, Özcan Purçu, Bayraklı Mayor Serdar Sandal, İzmir Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Naciye Gökçen Kaya, German Consul General Detlev Volter, İzmir Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers Union President Zekeriya Mutlu, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Dr. Buğra Gökçe, former Deputy Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Dr. Sırrı Aydoğan, municipal bureaucrats and representatives of trade associations attended.

Mayor Soyer stated that Izmir Fontu is not only a typeface, but also designed to find unique and long-term solutions for the visual designs of Izmir, and said: “With the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Izmir Foundation and our city vision partnership, we see it as a whole and carry out comprehensive studies within this framework. Our work on visual identity is a very important part of this branding. The Izmir symbols on the Talatpaşa Boulevard and Fethi Sekin ferry were the first step of our future visual identity work. Today, we are taking these works to the next level with İzmir Font, which will contribute significantly to the branding of İzmir.
