Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which organized a series of events within the scope of European Mobility Week, closed Kordon to traffic on September 22, Car Free Day, and left it to pedestrians. "We want to increase urban mobility"

Emphasizing that İzmir's shared bicycle system BİSİM has been providing free service for two days within the scope of the European Mobility Week, Soyer said, “We are conducting comprehensive studies and awareness activities to increase urban mobility in our city, to encourage pedestrian and bicycle transportation, and to reduce the use of private vehicles as much as possible by popularizing public transportation. " said.

Izmiras Routes

Emphasizing that Izmiras Routes, which will connect all tourism areas of Izmir with bicycle and walking paths with infrastructure and superstructure arrangements, green corridors and digital tourism applications, are an important part of the works in this field, Soyer said that Izmir's culture, history, gastronomy, rural and said that they link nature destinations. Stating that they have determined four green corridors that will connect Izmir city center to natural areas without interruption, Soyer said: “In this context, the Northern Route between Bostanlı and Yamanlar; The South Route of Kültürpark, Meles and Kaynaklar Village; East Route of Yeşilova - Smyrna and Homer Valley; Karşıyaka - We determined the route of Gediz Delta as the West Route. Only with the Efeler Yolu project, a 500-kilometer walking path will be implemented on the East Route. Within the framework of our Izmir Transportation Master Plan and Izmir Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan; With environmentally friendly transportation solutions, we reduce automobile use and establish a transportation system focused on pedestrian and bicycle use and public transportation. We make all our transportation investments in line with these goals. "
