Bursa Metropolitan Municipality's transportation company BURULAŞ site in Bursa Sea Buses (BUDO), 1. Turkey Basketball League Basketball Sports Club which is struggling Gemlik has renewed its title sponsorship deal.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to spread sports to the base with activities such as bringing sports halls to educational institutions in Bursa, supporting amateur sports clubs, bringing new names to Turkish sports by the branches of Büyükşehir Belediyespor, continues its sponsorship support for Gemlik Basketball Sports Club this season. The name sponsorship agreement between the Metropolitan Municipality and Gemlik BUDO Basketball Sports Club was also signed for this season. The sponsorship agreement with Gemlik Basketball and the protocol regarding the use of TOFAŞ Sports Club facilities by the Gemlik Basketball Sports Club were made in the historical presidency building in Heykel. To the protocol; Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, TOFAŞ General Manager Tolga Öngören and Gemlik Basketball Sports Club President Berkay Bulut signed their signature.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Alinur Aktaş reminded that Gemlik BUDO Basketball Sports Club is fighting seriously in the 1st League. Stating that they contributed to the club by adding the name BUDO in accordance with the agreement they made last year during the halftime break, Mayor Aktaş said, “They fought in the 1st League for the first time. We have experienced that pride in the matches we attended from time to time. It made us happy to share the excitement and the joy of children, young people and women in Gemlik, whose population exceeds 100 thousand. With the signatures we signed today, I hope we will continue the process this period as Gemlik BUDO Basketball ”. Emphasizing that they enjoyed supporting Gemlik BUDO Basketball, President Alinur Aktaş said, “I think the support given at this time, which is particularly affected by the pandemic, is important. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we continue to support our district teams in 21 branches with the support of Büyükşehir Belediyespor in order to spread sports halls. I hope the agreement we have made will be beneficial to the basketball community, ”he said.
Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş, in his speech, praised TOFAŞ Sports Club. Stating that the usage rights of TOFAŞ Sports Club's facilities were transferred to Gemlik BUDO Basketball team within the framework of the same protocol, Mayor Aktaş said, “In this way, an agreement was made between TOFAŞ and Gemlik BUDO Basketball teams in terms of pilot team implementation. I would like to thank the TOFAŞ Sports Club managers. Their approach to developing basketball clubs is exemplary. It is important that they own and contribute ”.
