UZMAR Receives Order for 4 New Tugs

UZMAR has signed a contract with Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan for 4 newly built RAstar 3200W Class Terminal / Escort Tugboats.

On 18 August Karachi Port Trust Management Board Member Rear Admiral Mr. Jamil Akhtar HI and UZMAR Chairman of the Board, Mr.A. After the contract ceremony signed between Noyan Altuğ with video conference, Karachi Port Trust and EXPERT Stressing the importance of the relationship between him, A. Noyan Altuğ said, “We do not only sell marine vehicles, ships or tugboats. The most important items we sell are; Our technical knowledge is our understanding of detail engineering and our expertise in building state-of-the-art ships beyond standards. Our after-sales services also take us one step ahead of everyone else in the industry. As UZMAR, we are experiencing the excitement of signing this contract and the happiness of reuniting with our friends in KPT under the pandemic conditions we are experiencing all over the world ”.

The Robert Allan design RAstar 3200W Class Terminal / Escort Tugs, which will be built by UZMAR, have a length of 32,0 meters, with a renewed sponsored RAstar hull form, specially designed to provide maximum stability in escort maneuvers at speeds up to 10 knots and to meet the desired high maritime capability. RAstar 75W tugs, which will have 3200 tons of towing power from fore and aft, will reach a speed of 13 knots.

Following the signed contract, the first two ships will begin to serve for Karachi Port Trust in the 2020th quarter of 4. The remaining two ships will be delivered to Karachi Port Trust in the second quarter of 2021.

The main machines of the RAstar 3200W Class Terminal / Escort Tugs are Caterpillar, and the Azimuth Propeller Units are Kongsberg. Tugboats will have the following notations given by Bureau Veritas:
