The transportation habits of the people will be determined within the scope of the re-functioning of Hürriyet, Cumhuriyet Street and the walking path, passing through the center of Kocaeli, with urban design works.
In this context, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has determined survey points on Hürriyet Street, Leyla Atakan Street, İnönü Street and Cengiz Topel streets at the main entrances of the city center. With the survey to be conducted, after learning how often and for what purposes the citizens coming to Izmit City Center by their vehicles or on foot use this area, the problems they experience will be analyzed.
THE SURVEY WILL TAKE 45 DAYS
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will carry out traffic studies and surveys in Hürriyet, Cumhuriyet Street within the scope of the re-functioning of Izmit city center. The survey will be conducted in 3 different time zones: morning peak hour, noon hour and evening peak hour, separately on weekdays and weekends. The study will be completed in 45 days in total and 4 thousand 3 pedestrian surveys, 125 thousand 3 driver surveys and traffic counts will be made at 125 different cross-sectional points.
