Tesla, which started production in Shanghai, China, the first 'gigafabrik' outside the USA on January 7, 2020, starts to produce the world-famous Model Y here. Tesla, which previously produced the Model 3 sedan group in China, decided to open the production line to new models after the sales were far beyond their expectations.
Tesla China's official website has launched a reservation for the Model Y to be produced in China. The prices for the two Model Ys, which will start production in 2021, were announced as 488 thousand yuan (about 70 thousand 600 dollars) and 535 thousand yuan, respectively.
The company announced that the announced prices are estimates and the net prices will become clear shortly after the sale. The Chinese government provided Tesla with various conveniences and offered some tax benefits to the company.
