“National Rail Systems Research and Test Center (URAYSİM)” project studies, financed by Anadolu University's own resources and aimed to become a world-class science center in its field, were carried out by Rector Prof. Dr. It was inspected on site by Fuat Erdal.


Turkey's first railway systems research and testing URAYS candidate to be the center of my project work is in progress under the leadership of Anadolu University Rector Prof. Dr. Fuat Erdal visited the project campus in Alpu district of Eskişehir. Rector Erdal examined the developments regarding URAYSİM, which is a very comprehensive investment with its targets, campus infrastructure and project partnerships. He received information about the completion stages of the center, which was presented as a long-term project.

Inside the campus where URAYSİM is located, an education facility, administrative building, social facility, hangars and test roads are being built. While it is aimed to test conventional trains, high-speed trains and light rail metro systems, it is also envisaged that it will be a center where experts from all levels will be trained.

What is URAYSİM Project?

The URAYSİM project was launched for the first time with the national high speed train project coming to the agenda. Turkey's decision to establish its own test center and Anadolu University to be able to do this work and aspire to obtain certification tests of the train caused the expulsion of the first steps of the project URAYS. URAYSİM, which will be established to carry out the testing and certification procedures of the national train, will carry out testing and certification of all towing and towed vehicles on the railways and will serve not only the region but also the surrounding countries. Railway vehicle manufacturers in European countries will also come to Eskişehir for testing and certification.

In the center, there will be a 400 km test road where trains can be tested at a speed of 50 km, workshops, research and education buildings, accommodation facilities, where there will be devices and machines for static and dynamic tests. URAYSİM will also have an R&D Center that will prepare the ground for the production of advanced technology products.
