National parks and nature parks under the protection of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) hosted 4 million 2 thousand people during the 14-day Eid al-Adha holiday.
While some citizens went to the seaside cities and regions during the holiday, others preferred national parks and nature parks, which are cooler than city centers.
The new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic was also effective in the choices of citizens this year. Citizens preferred open ruins such as national parks against the risk of disease that may occur in closed areas.
The infrastructure works implemented with the measures of the DKMP General Directorate ensured that the number of visitors in these areas increased over the years.
During the Feast of the Sacrifice, which was declared as a holiday for 8 days last year, and the Feast of Ramadan, which was holidayed for 9 days, 4 million 4 thousand 2 people visited the national parks and nature parks that hosted more than 14 million visitors this year.
Within the scope of Kovid-19 measures, DKMP officials paid attention to the protection of social distance in the areas visited during the holiday. Necessary controls were also carried out by the authorities throughout the country in this regard.
MARMARİS NATIONAL PARK AT THE TOP
The most visited park area during the holiday was Marmaris National Park in Muğla with 195 thousand people. Ormanya Nature Park in Kocaeli came to the fore with 193 thousand 262 visitors and Ayvalık Islands Nature Park in Balıkesir with 140 thousand 500 visitors.
The mentioned areas are Dilek Peninsula National Park in Aydın with 98 thousand 778 people, Turgut Özal Nature Park in Malatya with 78 thousand 494 people, Belgrade Forest Nature Parks in Istanbul with 75 thousand 399 people, Munzur Valley National Park in Tunceli with 61 thousand 160 people. He watched the park.
Turkey, while 44 national parks and nature parks is home to 247, 30 nature conservation area welcomes visitors and 116 natural monuments.
In the increase in the number of visitors, the accommodation facilities and social facilities built by DKMP General Directorate in protected areas played an important role.
With the developing technology and increasing use of mobile phones, “National Parks Mobile Application” also has a share in increasing the number of visitors such as national park, nature park, nature reserve and nature monument.
