Minister Karaismailoğlu Examines Flood Damaged Roads from Air

Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, examined the roads in the disaster area damaged by the flood in Giresun from the air by helicopter. Karaismailoğlu continued to investigate by getting off the helicopter in Yağdere, where the most damage occurred after Dereli. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that road damage occurred in the 226-kilometer section of 4 kilometers, which was affected by excessive rainfall, and said, “The wounds in Giresun will be covered by the state. Our state is with its citizens with all its might. We are together with our colleagues and citizens. We will heal all wounds as soon as possible. Our teams start with heart and start working for this purpose ”.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, who made observations in Giresun as of yesterday morning and came together with citizens, first examined Dereli and Yağdere districts from the air with a helicopter taking off from Ordu-Giresun Airport. Karaismailoğlu, who also examined the road maintenance and renovation works carried out by the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) teams on the roads affected and closed due to floods, continued the investigations by getting off the helicopter in Yağdere district where the most damage occurred after Dereli.

4 kilometers of road damaged

Minister Karaismailoğlu, who said that they are working hard to remove the damage in Yağdere district, where the destruction is great, and to return the citizens to normal life as soon as possible, stated that a total of 5 kilometers of roads in 226 road axes were affected due to excessive rainfall and floods. Underlining that there was road damage in the 226-kilometer section of the 4-kilometer road network affected by excessive rainfall, Karaismailoğlu said, “One of our bridge was damaged in Dereli. Our 2 thousand 200 meter retaining wall collapsed and was damaged, 12 culverts were damaged and became unusable ”. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the works on damaged bridges and culvert crossings on Dereli and Doğankent roads were determined on-site by a team of 10 people and the project design studies started.

Damage Assessment Studies on Village Roads Kgm Continues

Karaismailoğlu stated that the studies to determine the damages on the village roads of the group that are outside the General Directorate of Highways network are continuing. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the damage investigation on the village roads was also carried out by the teams of the General Directorate of Highways, and that the establishment determination studies were carried out rapidly by establishing 30 separate commissions of 5 people.

Karaismailoğlu said, “In the determinations made here so far, 2 bridges were destroyed, 3 of them were damaged. Approximately 10 kilometers of road has become damaged and transportation has become closed in some places. In addition, 25 culverts became damaged. The wounds in Giresun will be healed by the state. Our state is with its citizens with all its might. We are together with our colleagues and our citizens. We will heal all wounds as soon as possible. Our teams start with heart and start working for this purpose ”.
