IMM took action for the metro line, which will relax the metrobus line in Istanbul. IMM requested that the İncirli-Sefaköy subway, which was transferred to the Ministry of Transport during the AKP period, be extended to Beylikdüzü and transferred to it in order to start its construction as a single line.

With the protocols signed in 2015, the construction works of the Yenikapı-İncirli Metro line and the İncirli-Sefaköy Metro line, which were planned within this scope, were transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The construction of the metro line between Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü was also left to IMM. However, the construction of metro lines has never been started until today.

In the assessment made by the new administration of IMM when he took office, he concluded that the extension of Beylikdüzü-Sefaköy line, which is still in project preparation, and the construction of Beylikdüzü-Sefaköy-İncirli will give more positive results in terms of Istanbul transportation and efficient use of public resources.

Upon this, the IMM Rail Systems Department applied to the Ministry of Transport on 13 August 2020 and requested a protocol be signed to extend the line and transfer its construction to IMM. In the request letter, it was stated that with the extension of the line, integration with the 3 rail system line in İncirli can be achieved and the transportation of the European side will be significantly relieved until the Incirli-Yenikapı metro line undertaken by the ministry is built.

Beylikdüzü-Sefaköy-İncirli Metro line; It was emphasized that it would be appropriate to operate as a single line without interruption and passenger transfer in line with travel values, feasibility study, and operational scenarios.
If the Ministry considers appropriate, a new protocol was requested in addition to the 2015 protocol. According to the information obtained from IMM, if the request is deemed appropriate, the construction of the Incirli-Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü line and a connection line from this line to Esenyurt is planned to begin in 2021.
