Zehra Zümrüt, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services, announced that all resources have been mobilized for citizens affected by the flood and landslide disaster that occurred on 22 August 2020 in Selçuk Giresun.
Minister Selçuk stated that 2,5 million TL will be transferred to Social Aid and Solidarity Foundations in the region for the citizens affected by the disaster.
Selçuk stated that they did not leave our citizens alone after all kinds of natural disasters and that they gave all kinds of material and moral support.
Reminding that the psychosocial support teams affiliated to the Ministry started to work in the field from the moment the incident occurred, Minister Selçuk noted that the psychosocial support team consisting of 60 people and 2 mobile Social Service Center vehicles serve.
Sharing the information regarding the activities carried out, Minister Selçuk said, “We mobilized all our means so that our citizens do not feel alone. It continues its activities in Dereli and Tirebolu districts of Giresun and surrounding villages with our teams and 2 mobile Social Service Center vehicles. In addition, while the search activities for our missing citizens continue, our PSD teams provide all the necessary support to the relatives of the missing and deceased. ''
Stating that our teams, including psychologists, sociologists and social workers, are working with all their might to relieve the pain of our citizens affected by natural disasters, Minister Selçuk said, “Our teams are in contact with our citizens one on one. After the studies and examinations, we will ensure that our needy households benefit from social and economic support services. ''
Minister Selçuk once again shared the message that I wish God's mercy and condolences to their relatives to our citizens who lost their lives in the disaster.
