Traffic Density Between OIZ and Gebze Will Decrease With The Giant Project

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which brings comfort to Kocaeli's transportation, continues its works, which is one of its giant projects, "Gebze District TEM Highway Bridges Connection Roads 1st Stage Construction Work". Gündoğdu said, “With this project, the traffic density between the OIZ and Gebze district center will decrease. "Road comfort is increased with the newly built bridges and roads."

GÜNDOĞDU FOLLOWS THE PROJECTS STEP BY STEP BY PRESIDENT BÜYÜKAKIN

Despite the virus epidemic, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out the construction of large projects in transportation, education, sports, culture and many other areas. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Balamir Gündoğdu follows up the big projects across the city step by step in line with the instructions of Mayor Büyükakın. Secretary General Gündoğdu recently made examinations in the "Gebze District TEM Highway Bridges Connection Roads 1st Stage Construction Work" project.

BRIDGES, HIGHWAYS, SIDE ROADS ARE BUILDING IN METROPOLITAN

Within the scope of the project, bridges are being built by Highways, while the side roads and participation branches are built by the Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science Affairs teams. Within the scope of the works, a total of 3 thousand 3 meters of side roads will be built, 150 thousand meters in the southern part and 6 thousand 150 meters in the northern part. The length of the road built with participation branches and other roads will be 12 kilometers. Within the scope of the works, the Metropolitan Municipality teams are paving the asphalt on the south side road and performing the construction of rainwater, stone walls and other different productions on the north side roads.

THE PROJECT WILL MEASURE THE TRAFFIC INTENSITY

In the Tembelova and Kirazpınar bridges on TEM Highway, which connects Gebze OIZ regions, Gebze district center and D-100 Highway, traffic density is experienced especially in the morning and evening hours. Within the scope of the project that Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will implement jointly with the General Directorate of Highways, one-way continuous, side roads are being built parallel to the TEM Highway in the north and south. Turning points are being built to allow crossings between both side roads. Thus, all signalized intersections on the east-west axis will be eliminated. It is predicted that the project will be completed in 500 days.

4 NEW BRIDGES WILL BE BUILT

4 new bridges will be built within the scope of the project, which will greatly ease the transportation network in the region. Tembelova and Kirazpınar bridges, which currently serve as 2 times 1 in the motorway area between Kirazpınar Neighborhood and Sultan Orhan, İnönü and Arapçeşme districts, will be demolished and reconstructed as 2 times 2 lanes. Again, within the scope of the project, two new bridges with 2 times 1 lane to the west of Tembelova Bridge and 2 times 1 lane to the east of Kirazpınar Bridge will be built.

METROPOLITAN WILL DO 12 KILOMETER SUPERSTRUCTURE WORK

Within the scope of the project, a total of 12 kilometers of superstructure work will be carried out on the north and south sides of the bridges built by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Highways, together with the separation and joining lanes. Within the scope of the work, superstructure, drainage lighting, rainwater infrastructure and small art structures work are carried out. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality spends approximately 45 million TL on the project within the scope of superstructure works.
